- Own end-to-end architecture across Rental and Digital platforms, including backend services, APIs, frontend integrations, and mobile experiences.
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures using microservices, serverless patterns, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
- Define API-first principles, integration patterns, API contracts, versioning, documentation, and governance across REST, GraphQL, SOAP, and event-streaming systems.
- Lead architecture for reservations, booking orchestration, pricing and rules engines, fleet and availability systems, customer profiles, identity, and digital experiences.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, performance, security, compliance, data governance, and observability.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, coding exercises, and hands-on guidance across engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions while aligning platform architecture with enterprise technology strategy.
- Guide adoption of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, DevOps practices, and observability tools.
- Evaluate frameworks, tools, and technologies; modernize legacy systems; and promote AI-enabled development and automation.
- Design, code, debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues while owning code quality, application security, functionality, and performance.
- Manage multiple development projects, estimate efforts, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery and process adherence.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Business Development, Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and frontend engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture; the role also states 10–12+ years of experience.
- Expertise in Java 8+, JDK, JVM internals, garbage collection, classloading, memory management, tuning, concurrency, and non-blocking programming.
- Strong experience with Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Spring Batch, and Spring AI.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, service meshes, distributed transactions, Saga patterns, and reliability strategies.
- Experience with REST, SOAP, GraphQL, API governance, API versioning, Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, TLS, mTLS, OWASP, secrets management, and secure coding.
- Hands-on experience with AWS preferred, with Azure or GCP acceptable.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQ, streaming, partitioning, reliability patterns, SQL and NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
- Experience with React and React Native or comparable frontend and mobile integration patterns.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of SOLID, domain-driven design, hexagonal architecture, scalability, consistency, resilience, performance, and architecture trade-offs.
- Ability to lead teams, communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, solve problems, evaluate technical trade-offs, and work with globally distributed Agile/Scrum teams.
- AI practitioner or AI-aware, with enthusiasm for applying AI to architecture, development, and platform modernization.
- Coding is mandatory, with evaluation focused on design thinking, architectural reasoning, extensibility, reliability, correctness, concurrency, distributed systems, and observability-aware design.
