Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of complex SAP solutions, integrations, enhancements, and extensions.
- Develop SAP applications using ABAP, SAP S/4HANA development models, Fiori, CDS Views, RAP, and SAP Business Technology Platform integrations.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, development standards, design reviews, code reviews, quality assessments, and technical design sessions.
- Architect and support integrations between SAP, enterprise platforms, cloud services, middleware, event-driven systems, and third-party applications.
- Build automated testing, monitoring, logging, observability, operational support, security controls, and audit-compliance capabilities.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues and serve as an escalation point for development and support teams.
- Collaborate with architects, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and potentially oversee a small team, coordinate technical deliverables, and assist with resource planning.
- Participate in backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, architectural reviews, solution design, warranty support, and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience, or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience.
- In-depth information systems knowledge and the ability to apply IT best practices.
- Understanding of business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
- Preferred education includes Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience includes SAP development leadership, SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA architecture and delivery, and banking or financial services.
- Expertise with ABAP, ABAP Objects, SAP Data Dictionary, SAP EDI, ALE, iDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, enhancement frameworks, user exits, BAdIs, and interface development.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, CDS Views, AMDPs, OData Services, Fiori, SAP Gateway, RAP, embedded analytics, and SAP Business Technology Platform services.
- Experience integrating SAP with enterprise and cloud platforms using APIs, middleware, messaging technologies, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with SAP modules and business areas including MM, PO, FI/CO, AP, Treasury, Banking, Group Reporting, Finance, Controlling, Procurement, and Project Systems.
- Knowledge of secure software development, application security controls, vulnerability management, audit requirements, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, relational database design, SAP HANA optimization, SQL, data modeling, performance tuning, and high-volume transaction processing.
- Experience with MQ, JMS, Kafka, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, automated testing frameworks, and modern source control and delivery practices.
