Responsibilities

Design and evolve backend systems powering real-time collaborative document editing for tens of thousands of concurrent users.
Own the content model and data persistence layer, including schema design, migrations, compatibility, and maintainability.
Build and maintain Kafka- and NATS-based event-driven pipelines that process frontend interactions and maintain consistent document state.
Contribute to the reliability, observability, and operational excellence of a large fleet of Python microservices.
Ship product features end-to-end from backend architecture through production monitoring.
Contribute to AI-powered capabilities, including agentic document workflows.

5+ years of production Python development experience.
Strong experience with relational databases, SQL, schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with message queues and event-driven architectures such as Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar.
Deep understanding of AsyncIO and concurrent systems.
Experience building and operating microservice architectures at scale.
Ability to reason about distributed systems, including consistency, ordering, and failure modes.
Understanding of the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and production monitoring.
Experience building or integrating AI agents, LLM-powered workflows, or agentic systems is preferred.
Effective oral and written English communication skills.
