Responsibilities

Design and evolve backend systems for real-time collaborative document editing serving tens of thousands of concurrent users.
Own the content model and data persistence layer, including schema design, migrations, compatibility, and long-term maintainability.
Build and maintain event-driven pipelines using Kafka and NATS to process frontend interactions and maintain consistent document state across services.
Improve the reliability, observability, and operational excellence of Python services.
Ship product features end-to-end from backend architecture through production monitoring.
Contribute to AI-powered capabilities, including agentic document workflows.

At least five years of production Python development experience.
Strong experience with SQL, relational databases, schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with message queues and event-driven architectures, including Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
Deep understanding of AsyncIO and concurrent systems.
Experience building and operating microservice architectures at scale.
Ability to reason about distributed-system consistency, ordering, and failure modes.
Understanding of the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and production monitoring.
Experience building or integrating AI agents, LLM-powered workflows, or agentic systems is preferred.
Effective written and spoken English communication skills.
Strong ownership, product orientation, customer focus, operational excellence, collaboration, and autonomy.
