Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, technical direction, and hands-on guidance.
- Lead technical architecture, design complex scalable distributed systems, and align solutions with business goals.
- Drive coding standards, design patterns, development best practices, documentation, and engineering excellence.
- Develop and maintain high-quality software with unit testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and operational excellence.
- Lead discovery for major projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scopes, milestones, and deliverables.
- Communicate architectural decisions and complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Research emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of software engineering experience.
- Ideally 15+ years of software development experience focused on large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with Java, React Native, Node.js, Kafka, NoSQL databases, DevOps, Git, Maven, and public cloud technologies such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Advanced knowledge of software design, distributed systems, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering software products and data-backed services for large user bases.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, technical architecture, global platforms, debugging, and production support.
- Ability to perform risk and cost analysis, classify requirements, understand business objectives, and work with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Preferred experience includes a relevant master’s degree plus 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Preferred knowledge includes WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
