Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain frontend and backend features using React and Node.js.
- Develop donation checkouts, embeddable widgets, donor and partner portals, and administrative tools.
- Architect scalable components supporting millions of monthly transactions.
- Write clean, documented, and thoroughly testable code.
- Lead technical design and architecture discussions for complex problems.
- Mentor peers through code reviews and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to clarify requirements and shape the roadmap.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities.
- Use AI meaningfully in day-to-day work and identify opportunities for AI to improve engineering workflows.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional fullstack development experience.
- Deep understanding of modern JavaScript, including the event loop, closures, promises, and prototypes.
- Expert-level proficiency with React and its ecosystem; Vue familiarity is a plus.
- Strong backend expertise with Node.js; Koa or NestJS experience is highly preferred.
- Experience configuring Webpack and performing performance optimization and profiling.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and accountability.
- Experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, or Elasticsearch is preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud infrastructure is preferred.
- Open-source contributions or a strong personal portfolio are advantageous.
- Meaningful prior use of AI in professional work and an understanding of where it adds value.
