Base Salary
$142k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve microservices for product catalog management, hierarchical classification, and organizational master data.
- Develop React and TypeScript internal tools for merchants, buyers, data stewards, and other business users.
- Create validation, canonicalization, and entity-resolution capabilities to improve product data quality at scale.
- Integrate services with Kafka-based ingestion pipelines, Temporal workflow orchestration, and downstream enterprise consumers.
- Operate owned services through on-call rotations, observability, runbooks, alerting, and incident response.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and design reviews while mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant delivery of backend services and frontend applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, or Data Engineering.
- Proficiency in more than one programming language and strong backend experience with Java or Kotlin, microservices, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
- Production experience building React applications with TypeScript, with attention to usability and accessibility.
- Experience with containerized deployments, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline configuration.
- Understanding of distributed-systems tradeoffs including eventual consistency, failure modes, idempotency, schema evolution, and data partitioning.
- Strong verbal, written, and diagramming communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with agentic development and using agents during the software development lifecycle.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Temporal.io or similar durable execution frameworks, product information management or retail/e-commerce, entity resolution, canonicalization, data quality systems, engineering standards, shared libraries, or developer experience tooling.
