Base Salary

$110k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the high- and low-level design of one or more billing platform subsystems.
  • Own the quality, reliability, usability, and performance of billing platform solutions.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and oversight for multiple billing teams.
  • Lead the design and development of complex, scalable, maintainable software systems.
  • Evaluate code quality and collaborate with stakeholders to implement project requirements.
  • Identify and prioritize technical risks and develop efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, engineering teams, and other departments to deliver projects.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance that supports continuous learning and effective decision-making.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional, hands-on software development experience.
  • Strong experience architecting and designing large-scale, complex systems.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Golang, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or equivalent technologies.
  • Proficiency with cloud computing tools across the software development lifecycle, including deep expertise in DevOps, observability, telemetry, and test automation.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering teams and business functions, drive decisions, and communicate transparently.
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred experience in financial technology, billing, payments, subscription management, and financial reporting.
  • Preferred track record designing and implementing workflow engines.
