Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain resilient frontend and backend features using React and Node.js.
- Develop donation checkouts, embeddable widgets, donor portals, partner portals, and related core products.
- Architect system components that scale across millions of monthly transactions.
- Write clean, documented, and thoroughly testable code.
- Lead architecture and technical design discussions for complex problems.
- Mentor peers through code reviews and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to clarify requirements and shape the roadmap.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities.
- Use AI meaningfully in day-to-day work and identify opportunities for AI to improve engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional fullstack development experience.
- Deep understanding of modern JavaScript, including the event loop, closures, promises, and prototypes.
- Expert-level proficiency with React and its ecosystem.
- Strong backend expertise with Node.js; Koa or NestJS experience is highly preferred.
- Experience configuring Webpack and performing performance optimization and profiling.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and accountability.
- Experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, or Elasticsearch is preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud infrastructure is preferred.
- Open-source contributions or a strong personal portfolio are advantageous.
- Curiosity, a hypothesis-driven mindset, and the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences are valued.
- Applicants should already use AI meaningfully in their work and understand where it adds value.
