Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise J2EE data reference applications for trading and investment research using Spring, Struts, and MQ JMS.
  • Deploy enterprise applications on AWS EKS and maintain AWS front-end and back-end services using S3 and EC2.
  • Build REST APIs for data access, messaging, and data transfer using Java, Kafka, and Solace.
  • Develop Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Spark SQL, and EMR data solutions and enhancements to data acquisition frameworks.
  • Participate in architecture design teams and define and implement application-level architecture.
  • Develop applications for complex projects, components, and subsystems across multiple platforms.
  • Recommend development testing tools and methodologies and review and validate test plans.
  • Ensure QA readiness, code quality, application security, and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
  • Create documentation and establish full life-cycle plans for complex projects.
  • Plan schedules and assignments, manage project risks, and help deliver multiple projects on time and on budget.
  • Act as a liaison with business units, resolve technology issues, and provide technical estimates and solutions.
  • Advise senior management on technical strategy and mentor junior team members.
  • Perform independent technical and functional analysis and develop original solutions for multiple divisional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field, or a foreign education equivalent, plus five years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a master’s degree in one of the listed fields, or a foreign education equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing and optimizing high-volume enterprise-scale data platforms using Spark, SpringBoot, and AWS EMR, S3, and EKS.
  • Expertise with Kafka for real-time data integration and with Elastic Search, LogStash, and Kibana for application logging and monitoring.
  • Experience developing J2EE applications with Spring, Struts, and MQ JMS and deploying them on AWS EKS.
  • Knowledge of web security principles including XSS and CSRF and experience with Fortify and Veracode.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Maven, GIT, IntelliJ, GIT stash, Test-Driven Development, Unit testing, JUnit, and Angular testing techniques.
  • Experience using Spark SQL in the Apache Hadoop Ecosystem and Sonar for code quality and application security validation.
  • Ability to perform architecture, technical analysis, project planning, risk management, documentation, and technical leadership responsibilities.
