Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and user-facing application features.
- Write clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested code according to team standards.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, implementation planning, and code reviews.
- Investigate and debug development and production issues using logs, metrics, and debugging tools.
- Support system reliability, performance, monitoring, testing, deployment, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver reliable product capabilities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for features, operational processes, and implementation decisions.
Requirements
- Experience using Python for data processing, transformation, or integration workflows.
- Understanding of data integration and ETL principles, including batch, asynchronous, or streaming processing.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with developing, integrating, or maintaining APIs and backend services.
- Understanding of Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and investigate technical problems.
- Basic understanding of containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate blockers.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Desirable: familiarity with Node.js, Scala, Java, or another JVM-based language.
- Desirable: exposure to Vue.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript for front-end development.
- Desirable: experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.
- Desirable: familiarity with Kafka or another message-broker or event-streaming technology.
- Desirable: exposure to Elasticsearch or another search and indexing technology.
