Base Salary
$94k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with strong test coverage.
- Translate product requirements into robust, modular, configurable, reusable, scalable, secure, and maintainable distributed application designs.
- Lead design and code reviews across multiple applications.
- Lead sprint teams in delivering new or improved features and resolving delivery impediments.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver intended functionality.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Drive technical strategy and vision for the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of software programming experience, including at least 2 years with technologies used at Mercury.
- More than 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Preferred: 6 or more years of Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and integration experience.
- Preferred: 4 or more years of Java/J2EE experience.
- Preferred: 2 or more years using technologies such as Kafka, AWS, S3, Drools, and Blaze.
- Preferred: 2 or more years of personal-lines product experience.
- Preferred: 1 or more years using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GUnit.
- Proficiency in an industry-standard programming language and experience with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, databases, APIs, messaging, distributed systems, containerization, and cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical-strategy skills.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
