Responsibilities
- Lead the long-term architecture and strategy for the AWS cloud ecosystem, including fault-tolerant, scalable, performant, and cost-effective designs.
- Establish organization-wide observability standards using DataDog.
- Optimize Jenkins automation and platform processes to improve productivity for hundreds of developers.
- Lead Kubernetes efficiency, security, and deployment-pattern improvements across the organization.
- Partner with security teams to support infrastructure security and proactive HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance.
- Act as the escalation point for complex system failures and lead incident post-mortems.
- Mentor senior engineers, lead cross-functional initiatives, and communicate technical vision to executives.
Requirements
- 10–13+ years of experience in SRE or cloud architecture.
- Deep technical expertise in AWS, including EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3.
- Professional-level experience with Kubernetes, DataDog, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible.
- Expert-level Python or Bash scripting skills for building internal tools and platforms.
- Ability to conduct deep architectural reviews and communicate technical strategy to executives while remaining technically hands-on.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS Professional or Specialty certifications in Architect, Security, or DevOps; experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Redshift; and open-source or industry conference contributions.
