Responsibilities
- Lead software design, development, and testing for 2–4 mission-critical projects while ensuring technical quality and delivery.
- Define software requirements, architecture, deliverables, development standards, tools, frameworks, and workflows with stakeholders and technical leadership.
- Guide teams building cloud-native applications, web front ends, scalable back ends, secure pipelines, and event-driven microservices.
- Serve as a technical escalation point through code reviews, issue resolution, design evaluations, and architectural feedback.
- Implement secure development practices including secure coding, vulnerability scanning, continuous testing, and automated deployment workflows.
- Contribute hands-on code, complex technical problem solving, architectural proofs of concept, and rapid-prototyping support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 15+ years of software development experience, or a master’s degree with 13+ years of experience.
- At least 7 years of backend development using Python, Java, C#, or Go and/or frontend development using React, Angular, Vue.js, HTML5, or CSS3.
- Expertise in cloud-native architecture and multi-cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, DAF Cloudworks, and GCP.
- Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm, plus experience automating CI/CD, testing, security scanning, and deployment workflows.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Knowledge of JMeter, Selenium, and Jest for unit and end-to-end testing.
- At least 3 years leading software development teams across 2–4 projects or prototypes simultaneously.
- At least 3 years working with government, defense, and intelligence project development requirements and processes.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering with program leadership, technical leads, subject-matter experts, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
