Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of scalable and resilient architectures for distributed payment authorization systems.
- Develop new solutions while maintaining, modernizing, and pragmatically refactoring legacy systems.
- Lead critical incident response, war rooms, post-mortems, advanced troubleshooting, and systemic remediation.
- Use observability tools to proactively monitor application health, bottlenecks, and behavior.
- Build high-quality software using sound architectural patterns, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead technically complex, open-ended initiatives from end to end and make autonomous architecture and code-design decisions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming, in-depth code reviews, and technical guidance.
- Improve infrastructure and delivery processes by configuring and optimizing deployment pipelines.
Requirements
- More than 5 years of relevant professional experience in software development and high-volume distributed-systems design.
- Strong professional experience and proficiency with Golang, including the ability to guide technical decisions.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization across DML, DDL, and DQL.
- Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka and AWS SQS.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Advanced practical experience with Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus for logging, profiling, tracing, and metrics.
- Practical experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Strong knowledge of Hexagonal Architecture, Clean Architecture, SOLID, Event-Driven Architecture, and SAGA.
- Experience developing applications with Elixir is preferred.
- Experience with RabbitMQ is preferred.
- Previous experience in financial services, card authorization flows, or payment methods is preferred.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL partitioning and internal AWS RDS configuration is preferred.
- Technical English proficiency for reading complex architecture documentation and research is preferred.
