Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable distributed systems and data platform services for privacy, compliance, and secure data governance.
- Build tools for data classification, lineage tracking, access control, auditability, policy enforcement, monitoring, and automation.
- Translate privacy and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
- Partner with engineering, security, and legal teams to implement privacy-by-design controls across Apple’s infrastructure.
- Support responsible data use at scale while safeguarding user data.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building scalable distributed systems or data platforms.
- Strong programming skills in at least one of Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
- Experience designing secure systems with authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.
- Understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and SQL/NoSQL, data lake, or data warehouse storage systems.
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance requirements including GDPR and CCPA.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes data governance platforms, metadata management, lineage, data quality, privacy-by-design, compliance controls, fine-grained access control, policy engines, data discovery, classification, masking or tokenization, audit and observability systems, and hybrid-cloud or on-premises environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including experience partnering across engineering, security, and legal teams.
