Base Salary
$165k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead software engineering teams delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Drive architecture, scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, performance, security, and maintainability decisions.
- Develop and support applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven architectures, and Apache Kafka.
- Guide adoption of AI-native development practices, AI tools, and agentic workflows across the product development lifecycle.
- Establish engineering standards through code reviews, design reviews, automation, testing, and quality controls.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and delivery plans.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis and incident response.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, business, architecture, security, and technology stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including technical leadership of complex enterprise initiatives.
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven architectures, and Apache Kafka.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, query optimization, transaction management, and performance tuning.
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery automation.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in Pivotal Cloud Foundry environments.
- Experience with software design patterns, API lifecycle management, integration patterns, and object-oriented design.
- Experience applying AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and agentic workflows to software engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Experience in financial services, fraud prevention, identity verification, regulated industries, AI agent frameworks, AI evaluation, model validation, legacy modernization, Kubernetes, containers, or public cloud technologies.
