Responsibilities
- Build and evolve the Databricks-based lakehouse, Kafka consumers, reusable dlt tooling, and foundational data platform infrastructure.
- Develop MCP connectors, workflow skills, and integrations for AI-assisted data workflows used by people and AI agents.
- Implement data observability, quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting to improve data reliability.
- Own infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD for data workflows, access management, security configurations, audit trails, and spend governance.
- Create golden-path templates and platform patterns that improve developer experience and enable safe, scalable data use.
- Take ownership of systems from architecture through production operations and use incidents to drive durable improvements.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based data infrastructure.
- Production-quality Python proficiency; Go or Java familiarity is a plus.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or Terragrunt, CI/CD for data workflows, and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- A reliability mindset with experience in observability, alerting, production ownership, and incident-driven improvements.
- A platform-product mindset focused on developer experience and the needs of engineers, analysts, and other data consumers.
- Strong cross-functional communication and feedback-seeking skills.
- Experience using AI-powered tools to improve engineering velocity.
- Experience with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Kafka, or similar lakehouse and streaming technologies is preferred.
