Base Salary
$180k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own detection and prevention systems for fraud, abuse, spam, and malicious content.
- Design and build scalable trust infrastructure including rate limiting and content scanning.
- Architect distributed systems, APIs, and high-volume event pipelines for real-time abuse detection.
- Define and evolve core data models and storage systems for trust and safety.
- Build tools for internal support teams to investigate suspicious activity.
- Leverage AI for detection of AI-generated abuse.
- Create automated triage and investigation workflows.
- Investigate and resolve complex security incidents.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to balance security and user experience.
- Shape the long-term trust and safety strategy and technical roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with scalable production systems.
- Strong systems thinking and experience with highly available web APIs.
- Proficiency in backend technologies like Node.js or Python and databases like PostgreSQL.
- Experience with event streaming systems and high-volume event pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with trust features like rate limiting and fraud prevention.
- Track record of shipping high-quality applications under tight timelines.
- Product-minded approach with understanding of technical impacts on user experience.
- Passion for security and solving problems at scale.
