Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead technical architecture across core engineering, product management, executive leadership, and enterprise customer architects.
- Design and validate production vSphere Kubernetes Service and VMware Cloud Foundation topologies.
- Build and deploy real-time LLM inference systems, RAG pipelines, and distributed AI runtimes on GPU clusters.
- Lead migrations from legacy bare-metal, mainframe, stateful, and AI environments to Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Write production operators, CRDs, prototype integrations, and other infrastructure code, contributing upstream to core engineering codebases.
- Define patterns for distributed stateful systems, data fabrics, multi-cloud interoperability, GitOps, and Cluster API deployments.
- Translate customer pain points and field patterns into product requirements and roadmap priorities.
- Establish deployment standards and mentor Senior and Staff FDEs.
Requirements
- 17+ years of related experience required, including significant experience with infrastructure, distributed systems, AI platforms, or Kubernetes architectures.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Expertise with Kubernetes internals, CRDs, Operators, Cluster API, GitOps, ArgoCD, and Flux.
- Experience architecting AI inference pipelines, virtualized GPU environments, NVIDIA vGPU, MIG, GPUDirect RDMA, vLLM, TGI, and Triton.
- Experience with distributed systems and platforms including Ray, SGLang, LeaderWorkerSets, vLLM-Orchestrator, Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone, Apache Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Oracle Coherence, Hazelcast, Redis, Apache Ignite, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Dask, and Trino/Presto.
- Hands-on Go, Python, or Java development for infrastructure, Kubernetes controllers, AI wrappers, or automation frameworks.
- Experience with OpenShift, EKS, GKE, AKS, Rancher RKE/RKS, CSI, CNI, RDMA, InfiniBand, and RoCEv2.
- Demonstrated ability to work with C-suite stakeholders while remaining hands-on with production code and customer engineering teams.
- Track record of large-scale legacy-to-cloud-native migrations and technical leadership across complex enterprise environments.
