Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Build and evolve distributed systems that process high-volume, time-sensitive workloads.
- Develop solutions using Java or Rust and distributed messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Design efficient data solutions using relational and analytical databases including MySQL, ClickHouse, BigQuery, and Athena.
- Ensure reliability, observability, fault tolerance, and operational excellence across services.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
- Continuously improve platform performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Professional experience in backend software development.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Professional working proficiency in English at an advanced or fluent level.
- Strong experience developing applications in Java and/or Rust.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or similar technologies.
- Experience with relational and analytical databases.
- Experience building applications deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized environments.
- Experience implementing observability solutions including logging, metrics, and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, performance, and security.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Must be based in Brazil.
- Experience with fraud detection, cybersecurity, telecommunications, messaging platforms, large-scale streaming data, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, or globally distributed engineering teams is preferred.
- Rust experience is a plus, with support available for learning Rust during onboarding.
