Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and commercetools extensions.
- Implement commercetools capabilities including Product Catalog, Customers, Carts, Orders, Pricing, and Inventory.
- Develop custom middleware, API integrations, and event-driven services using messaging systems.
- Integrate commercetools with Akeneo, Contentful, ERP systems, OMS platforms, and payment gateways.
- Troubleshoot and enhance backend services and integrations while improving scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable backend solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Define and enforce backend coding standards, technical guidelines, documentation practices, and architectural standards.
- Conduct code reviews and participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, DevOps teams, and solution architects.
- Support CI/CD implementation, automation, deployment, automated testing, code quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain backend architecture, API, and integration documentation.
- Work flexibly in the CST timezone.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Experience with Node.js, Java, TypeScript, and composable commerce architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with commercetools APIs, GraphQL, custom extensions, subscriptions, and integrations.
- Experience developing, enhancing, and troubleshooting enterprise eCommerce solutions using composable commerce architecture.
- Strong knowledge of solution design and architecture for composable and headless commerce platforms.
- Experience with backend development, API-first systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven integrations.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Consulting experience and L3 or L4 support experience are advantageous.
